Demetrica Tyson
Demetrica Tyson is the Data Support Coordinator for the Children’s Trust of Alachua County. She began as Program Specialist in July 2022 and transitioned to the new role in August 2024.
Demetrica Tyson moved to the City of Gainesville in 2001 after attending the University of Central Florida, where she studied Legal Studies to begin working at the Gainesville Police Department. During her employment, Demetrica worked in various roles; her duties included managing databases, maintaining evidence, training, and developing policy. She served on advisory committees and worked on many notable projects. Demetrica retired from the City of Gainesville after 21 years of service.
Demetrica Tyson is the first lady of Pleasant Grove Community Church in Starke, Fl, where her husband, Carl D. Tyson, serves as the Pastor. She also holds a BS in Human Services from Walden University and several certificates from USF in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Demetrica has been very active in the Alachua County community. She has served in various leadership positions with the Junior League of Gainesville and is the President of the Junior League of Gainesville. Demetrica participated in Next leader, a Community Foundation of North Central Florida program, in 2021.
