Belita T. James, MSW

Belita James became the Director of Program Operations in November 2024. She started as a contract manager for the Children’s Trust of Alachua County in May 2021. She came to the role with over 15 years experience in social and human services, serving in capacities such as: Social Service Counselor, Health Education Coordinator, and Medical and School Social Worker. Before joining the Trust, she worked as a Research Coordinator at the University of Florida. James was responsible for managing daily operations of various research studies.

Belita attended Santa Fe High before graduating with a bachelor’s and master’s in social work from Florida A&M University.

Belita is zealous about helping others reach their goals. She has served in leadership with in her local religious organization for over 10 years.  

Belita is an author as well as entrepreneur. She enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling.
