Public Notice: The City of Gainesville hosts the Choose Peace - Gun Violence Prevention Summit

The City of Gainesville invites area youth, young adults, parents, educators, public safety and mental health providers, community-based organizations, members of the faith community and our neighbors to join us at the summit. Let’s come together to discuss ways to move through the crisis of gun violence. We’ll talk about the effects of gun violence on our community, symptoms of the issues, deeply rooted causes and a path forward.

The material in these sessions will include violent content and some profane language. Portions of the discussion may be emotionally and intellectually challenging, particularly for young people. Mental health resources will be available onsite for those who would like additional support. The intent of this event is to create a space where we can engage thoughtfully together.

Registration is not required if you are only attending the Youth Town Hall and following reception. Youth Town Hall co-sponsored by Children's Trust of Alachua County.
