Veteran Community Engagement Coordinator Joins Children’s Trust

Gainesville, Florida - Children's Trust of Alachua County is pleased to announce the hiring of Elizabeth Cayson as its Community Engagement Coordinator. Elizabeth is responsible for leading the community engagement efforts, focusing on building relationships with stakeholders, local community partners, and service providers to ensure the community is aware of Children's Trust efforts.
"We are very excited to welcome Elizabeth to our team. She brings extensive experience in community advocacy and development. Her experience will help the Trust develop a deeper dialogue with community members so that we may improve the livability of all children," said Colin Murphy, Executive Director of the Children's Trust of Alachua County.
Elizabeth has been engaged in community development and government relations in Palm Beach County for the past 30 years.
As a Hispanic woman, she utilized her bilingual expertise to promote programs and services in Spanish for Hispanic families. Most recently, she served as Communications Specialist for the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County for the past four and a half years.
Elizabeth holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Barry University in Miami Shores. She has received numerous awards in recognition of community and leadership service, including Glades NAACP Diversity Award, Palm Beach Atlantic University MacArthur Leadership Award, PBC Medical Society's Hero in Medicine-Outreach Award.
Elizabeth received a special recognition naming "Liz Cayson Day" in the late U.S. Congressman Alcee Hastings District for her heroic efforts in rescuing an eight-month-old child discarded from a passing vehicle and abandoned on a neighborhood street.

The Children's Trust of Alachua County provides children's services year-round throughout Alachua County so that children are healthy, educated, supported, and safe. The Children's Trust is a member of the Pritzker Children's Initiative.
